You won’t find many casinos in Ajax itself – the city only offers one gambling destination. Ajax Downs, the town’s main (and only) gaming facility joins a casino and a horse racing track. In addition, there are around 600 restaurants within a 10-minute drive from the facility, alongside 3 gambling venues in the neighboring town of Pickering.
Ajax Downs is the only casino within the town itself; this entertainment complex offers everything a punter might need – over 900 slots, digital table games, and a horse racing track. The building itself is relatively new; the gaming hall was constructed in 2006, while the track was completely re-built in 2009. Today, the track occupies full 6 furlongs (1,2 kilometers). The gambling house isn’t the largest one in Canada, but it’s certainly worth checking out if you ever visit Ajax. In addition to a decent array of gambling activities, there’s a luxurious restaurant available. Unfortunately, there’s no hotel on the territory of the complex; if you want to stay somewhere near Downs, consider checking out Ajax Hilton, which is just 3 kilometers away from the casino. Mind that you won’t find any live dealers operating in the facility; there are no poker tables available either. However, the horse racing track won’t leave you disappointed; it offers live wagering and off-track betting in the special Simulcast area.

Pickering Casino is projected to become the closest gambling facility to Ajax; it’ll be located within a 15-minute drive (7 kilometers) from Downs. At the moment of writing this article, the venue was close to opening; stage one, which is about to be launched in 2020, provides over 2,000 slot machines, 100 live dealer tables, and 167 digital gaming terminals. Overall floor space of the facility wasn’t yet announced, but, considering the number of available activities, it’d clearly become one of the biggest Canadian casinos. The first building will also provide lots of dining options, including restaurants, bars, pubs, and a buffet. Stage two will involve the construction of a large arena for live performances (2,500 seats promised) and a luxurious hotel with 275 rooms. The venue’s location would perfectly suit the needs of golf fans; Annandale Golf Club is within walking distance from the future Resort.

A quick glance at the map would reveal that Delta Bingo and Gaming is closer to Pickering than to Ajax. Nevertheless, it’s the nearest currently available facility offering gambling services to Ajax residents. The hall focuses on bingo, but there are plenty of slot machines and even 10 live tables available. Bingo sessions are held daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Delta offers a restaurant, but, unfortunately, there’s no hotel on the facility’s territory.

Ajax is located in the province of Ontario, which implies that the city’s gambling law must follow the provincial regulations. Ajax casinos (both brick-n-mortar and online ones, if any) welcome all punters over the age of 19. The same age restriction applies to alcohol and tobacco consumption, participation in charitable gambling, and bingo or lotteries. It’s worth noting that Ontario is home to 25 major gaming destinations (4 of which are large-scale casino resorts), leaving players with a decent choice of options.
In the town of Ajax, punters who have reached the legal betting age can participate in a wide range of activities. The list of available games includes slots, all classic table activities (baccarat, poker, roulette, blackjack), bingo, keno, lotteries, scratch cards, and sic bo. However, it’s worth remembering that you won’t find any governmentally licensed and regulated poker rooms in the city. Consider travelling to the neighboring town of Pickering if you prefer live dealer activities, as there are no Ajax casinos providing such services.
The town’s authorities frequently use gambling for fundraising purposes; for instance, the latest initiative is called Support Local Restaurant Bingo. It allows the city’s residents to help local businesses and participate in a 50-dollar gift card giveaway. There are plenty of other campaigns aimed at contributing to the community as well; most of them use bingo and lotteries as sources of revenue.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many casinos in Ajax currently available; the city is home to one gambling destination – Ajax Downs. It offers a wide range of services, including more than 900 slots, digital table games, and a horse racing track.
The biggest casino in the town is Ajax Downs. It provides a decent selection of slot machines (over 900 games) and a range of electronic gaming tables.
The first gambling facility opened in the city was Casino Ajax, established in 2006. However, the local horse racing track has existed long before the casino – it was first built back in 1969 and went through a major renovation in 2009.
